Project ECHO Homelessness network

Researchers from Marie Curie, UCL and the University of York have been awarded a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Partnership grant to bring professionals together to improve access to, and the quality of, palliative care for people experiencing homelessness. Register for the network now.

Across the UK, great work is happening to improve care and support for people experiencing homelessness with advanced ill health or who may benefit from palliative care support. But until now, there hasn't been a place for people working in this field to come together.

The first phase of the network wrapped up in June 2023 and involved regular online sessions attended by people from different backgrounds, where participants:

  • learned from each other
  • shared best practice, research, challenges and successes, and
  • connected with others with similar passion for improving care for this group towards the end of their lives.

Hearing case studies and examples of good practice and creative approaches to complex issues has broadened my understanding, and has given me a lot of ideas how I can contribute to the project I'm currently embarking on.
