Learning disabilities and autism at the end of life

This network aims to reduce the inequalities in care for people with a learning disability and autistic people, in line with the NHS's LeDeR programme  . Register for this network  .

Who should join?

The network is open to healthcare, social care and charity practitioners in Birmingham and Solihull who regularly care for, support, or meet people with learning disabilities and/or autism.

All levels of role, professions, and settings are welcome. While this is a closed network for participants based in Birmingham and Solihull, we will be launching an open national network, so please reach out   for updates. 

Objectives

  • Improve the lived experiences of those with a learning disability and/or autism and the experiences of those important to them.
  • Reduce the health inequalities experienced by those with learning disabilities and autism. 
  • Increase awareness of ECHO methodology as a way of sharing knowledge and improving care at the end of life. 
  • Increase understanding of local learning from the Birmingham and Solihull LeDeR report and create a community of practice to lead collaborations and initiatives based on the local need.
