North East Care Homes network

A partnership with Akari Care to create a community of practice for care home staff caring for residents living with a terminal illness.

Objectives

  • Increase knowledge and confidence of care home staff to provide holistic person-centred care for palliative and end of life residents.
  • Establish a community of practice to help improve and transform services and influence resident outcomes and experiences.

Curriculum

Following a curriculum setting meeting, the network ran for 12 sessions between April 2022 and July 2023. This network was solely for Akari Care Homes staff.
