Care and research
This policy lays out Marie Curie's commitment to delivering the best care to patients, their carers and families.
We strictly comply with all appropriate UK law and Care Commission standards as a minimum and have been commended on a number of activities for our outstanding levels of service and ethical approach.
All Marie Curie staff involved in research and the provision of care have a responsibility to be aware and have a thorough understanding of the ethical issues referred to in this policy.

Fundraising
Marie Curie is committed to its charitable aims, and fundraises in order to provide care and research. We concur with the Fundraising Regulator's Promise to be open, honest, fair and legal.
This policy seeks to cover the ethical issues and social responsibility within fundraising. All Marie Curie staff involved in fundraising have a responsibility to be aware and have a thorough understanding of the ethical issues referred to in this policy.

Investments
The objectives of the investment policy are to maximise the total investment return from the funds invested, whether through income or capital growth within a medium risk profile.
The trustees, in delegating their investment management, require their investment managers to pay attention to the standard investment criteria, namely the suitability of the class of investment and the need for diversification insofar as appropriate to the circumstances of the charity. Any restrictions on the type of investments or markets in which the manager may invest on the charity's behalf will be given in writing.

Environment
This policy lays out Marie Curie's commitment to continuous improvement in our actions to decrease our environmental impact.
We aim to comply with relevant environmental legislation and strive to better our practices to minimise waste, energy and carbon footprints whilst achieving the charity's service objectives and ensuring patient care is not adversely impacted.
We encourage environmental responsibility amongst our staff, volunteers and trustees. All Marie Curie staff have a responsibility to be aware and have a thorough understanding of the issues referred to in this policy.
Purchasing
This policy seeks to cover the ethical issues and social responsibility within supply chains when managing business to business supplier relationships and the purchasing of goods and services from suppliers.
Upholding the principles of this policy will be a shared responsibility between Marie Curie and its suppliers and the policy will be adopted at senior level within the charity. Marie Curie will expect its suppliers to assign and accept similar responsibility.
