I want to do a parachute jump for Marie Curie but can’t find it on your website. Why not?
As parachute jumps are potentially dangerous, there are serious legal and insurance implications for us. As such, we do not actively encourage people to take part in a parachute jump for Marie Curie. However, you may choose to participate in a parachute jump at your own risk and raise funds in aid of Marie Curie. If you decide to do this we can send you a fundraising pack with ideas of how to raise sponsorship and details on how you can bank your money.
If you would like to raise money for Marie Curie through an adventurous activity, you may be interested in taking part in one of our UK mountain challenges or even an overseas challenge. Visit our events pages to find out more.

How do I go about fundraising for my event?
Fundraising isn’t just about asking for sponsorship, there are lots of fun ways to raise money and it needn’t take up lots of your time.
When you join Marie Curie’s Daffodil Team you will be sent lots of information to help with ideas and inspiration to help you make the most of your fundraising.
How is my fundraising helping?
Your physical efforts at your event will not only allow for incredible personal achievement, but you’ll also be helping to provide vital care for people with terminal illnesses and their families.
Given the choice, most of us would want to die at home, surrounded by the people and things we cherish.
Marie Curie makes this possible.
The money you raise will allow Marie Curie Nurses to give free hands-on care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes, and vital emotional support to their loved ones. We allow families to make the most of the precious time they have left together.
Every £20 that's donated to Marie Curie provides an hour of free care to someone living with a terminal illness.
I’m no longer able to take part, what do I need to do?
Please make sure you tell both the event organiser and us as quickly as possible. They may be able to offer you a deferred place in next year’s event.
Please be aware that your registration fee may not be refundable. Check the Terms and Conditions of the event with the event organiser.
When will I get my race number or timing chip?
This will depend on which event you are taking part in – some event organisers send these out weeks in advance, while others will ask you to collect them on the day. Please check the event organiser’s website for further details.
What are Own and Guaranteed Places?
When registering with the event organiser, you'll notice that some events offer Own Places and/or Guaranteed Places.
An Own Place entry is one that the participant obtains themselves from the event organiser for a registration fee.
Guaranteed Places are offered by participating charities on condition that the participant pays an entry fee and raises a specific amount.
Own Places and Guaranteed Places are generally distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Some event organisers refer to Guaranteed Places as Gold Bond places or Pledge places. In all cases the event organiser will notify you if your entry has been accepted.
If you have secured a Guaranteed Place for Marie Curie you will automatically become part of Team Marie Curie.
If you have already secured your Own Place, you can still join Team Marie Curie and access the same benefits, but can define your own fundraising target.

If neither email appears in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder and if you have not received either email at all, please check with your bank.

What is Enthuse?
Enthuse is a charity fundraising and event registration platform.
It's the official fundraising partner for the London Marathon, Big Half, RideLondon and the Great Run Company. It supports participants to raise money through their own fundraising page.
How does Enthuse work?
When you register for the London Marathon, Big Half, RideLondon or the Great Run Company event, you'll automatically get your own fundraising page on Enthuse. You don't need to create an account.
As soon as the page is created, you can share the link and collect donations as well as paying money in yourself. Funds go directly to Marie Curie.
Do I have to use Enthuse?
No. You'll get a page as part of the registration process, but how much you use it is up to you. You can still use other fundraising platforms such as JustGiving if you prefer.
What’s the difference between Enthuse and other fundraising sites?
Enthuse offers similar tools to other fundraising sites, but it's integrated into the registration process – so you get your place in the event and your fundraising page at the same time.
Is Enthuse regulated?
Yes. Enthuse is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 for the provision of payment services, under the reference number 797344.
Is Enthuse secure?
Yes. All donations made through Enthuse are securely encrypted and processed using SSL with a minimum 128-bit encryption and firewalls. All credit and debit card payments are processed via our PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment gateway.
Enthuse has a long history of supporting charities and events like these, and the London Marathon, Big Half, RideLondon and Great Run Company have chosen them specifically for the job. The organisation was previously known as Primo Events and CharityCheckout.
Can anyone donate to an Enthuse page?
Yes. Donating is easy and all payments reach Marie Curie quickly and securely.
