Our risk assessment process for Covid-19

At Marie Curie, we have Covid-19 risk assessment processes in place for all areas of our charity activities.

Our activities are varied and complex and we’re examining each part of the charity in light of the Government's continually updated and changing guidance on managing the risk of coronavirus.

We’re also taking into account arrangements required in each of the four nations of the United Kingdom as each country moves out of lockdown.

These risk assessments are communicated to all affected staff, volunteers and relevant third parties as they are carried out for each part of the charity’s operations.

Through the risk assessment process:

  • We’ve introduced all required risk control measures (in line with Government guidance) for our front line staff so that they can continue to provide essential care and support to our patients and families.
  • We’ve enhanced our cleaning regimes.
  • We encourage handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with Government guidance, supply essential products and promote this via targeted communications and posters.
  • We’re taking all reasonable steps to help and support people working from home.
  • We’re taking all reasonable steps to communicate with and assist our supporters with Covid-19 compliance.
  • We’re taking all reasonable steps to maintain a two metre distance in all of our workplaces.
  • Where people cannot be two metres apart, we’ve done everything we can to manage the risk of transmission.

We will continue to monitor and reassess the risks associated with our ways of working and will make changes and improvements where we can.

The health, safety, and wellbeing of all associated with our charity is at the forefront of our decision making.
